I've noticed through my little FeedJit thing that alot of people who read my blog keep looking at my Beach Wedding Hair post. It only has 2 pictures on there, but I guess google likes it. Anyway, I thought since there are obviously alot of people getting married on the beach, I would throw a few tips your way. Things that I know now that I didn't then. Since that post, I got married. On the beach. Here's a few tips:
- Wear your hair half up and half down or all the way up. The reason I say this is because I wore my hair completely down and it flew into my face and ruined a couple of pictures I really wanted.
- If you do decide to wear it down, ask your photographer to turn you so that you are facing the direction the wind is blowing. Just trust me.
- For some reason, our photographer kept facing me looking right at the sun. So, in my bridal portrait, my eyes are almost closed. I was trying really hard to keep them open and keep them from watering. She said it was because my dark hair would shade my eyes. That's bull. Just because your hair is dark does not mean the sun won't get in your eyes.
- The pictures that they will want to take of you standing down hill from them may not turn out very well. The pictures she took like that made me look like I had a normal sized body and super short legs. They look a little weird.
- If you think I am focusing too much on the little things, I am. But, these are your wedding pictures so you will too.
- Use fake flowers. I know the real ones are so much prettier when you pick them up, but they will wilt pretty fast if you use real ones. You can make your bouquet look real. Just use all of the same color or flower. Mine looked pretty real, but I would've done it differently. Oh and don't use unnatural colors.
- If they face you toward the sun, try your best not to squint. Try to stand in your fiance's shadow if you can. They faced me towards the sun and I squinted through almost the entire ceremony until I realized what I was doing.
I hope I helped someone. I deleted my really bad pictures, but you can kind of see what I mean with the breeze from the ocean in the picture above. It's not that bad in that one, but my hair was in my mouth, my eyes, everything. The top picture is my bridal portrait. My eyes are open, but it's really hard to tell. If you click on the pictures, it will make them alot bigger so you can see. I'm not trying to bum anyone out. Just keep all of this in mind. You can still wear your hair all the way down if you want. Ciao!
